Data Center Electrical Commissioning Provider (Remote with Travel)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Data Center Electrical Commissioning Provider to join our team, working internally with commissioning specialists and externally with project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. This is a 100% remote position with 50-70% travel (local and national).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and clients (verbally and in writing)

  • Conduct commissioning design reviews (OPR, BOD, plans, specifications)

  • Review submittals and shop drawings

  • Perform site observation visits and prepare reports

  • Develop and execute test scripts (Level 2 IVCs, Level 4 FPTs, Level 5 ISTs)

  • Witness and validate onsite testing

  • Manage resolution of commissioning issues

  • Work with live electrical systems, including:

    • Three-phase AC power

    • DC power systems

    • MV gear, generators, switchgear, UPS, STS, PDUs

    • Fire alarm systems

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong engineering knowledge in the built environment

  • Experience in hyperscale data center design/construction

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to analyze technical information and develop solutions

  • Familiarity with:

    • Equipment startup/commissioning

    • LOTO procedures

    • Sequence of Operations (SOO) development

    • Functional test script creation

  • Ability to interpret construction drawings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR 5+ years of MEP construction/commissioning experience

  • Professional Engineering license (a plus)

  • OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety (required)

  • OSHA 30-hour (preferred)

  • Knowledge of Building Automation Systems (a plus)

  • NFPA 70E certification (required)

  • Building commissioning certification (preferred)

  • Field experience (preferred)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 30 lbs, climb ladders/stairs

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary Range: $90,000 – $140,000 USD/year (based on experience, skills, and location)
