The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical construction, experience with estimating software such as ACCUBID, and a proven ability to manage complex projects. Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for data centre projects, focusing on electrical systems.
• Utilize ACCUBID or equivalent estimating software to streamline the estimating process.
• Analyze project documents, including blueprints and specifications, to determine project scope and identify potential risks.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including project managers, engineers, and procurement, to ensure alignment and accuracy of estimates.
• Prepare detailed bid proposals and manage the submission process to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
• Stay informed on industry trends, material costs, and best practices to enhance estimating accuracy.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather critical project information.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost-saving measures to optimize project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in estimating electrical work, particularly for data centre or similar large-scale projects.
• Proficiency in ACCUBID or comparable estimating software.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, industry codes, and construction processes.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents with precision.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, electrical engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).

Day-to-Day

• Review project specifications, drawings, and contract documents to understand project requirements.
• Perform detailed take-offs and cost estimates using ACCUBID software.
• Conduct market research to ensure competitive pricing for materials and labor.
• Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to gather pricing information and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to clarify project details and ensure alignment.
• Prepare and present cost proposals to senior leadership and project stakeholders.
• Address follow-up questions and revisions during the bid review process.
• Conduct post-bid evaluations to refine estimating processes and improve future accuracy.
