Job Title: Senior Vice President of Construction – Data Centers

Key Responsibilities
Drive Development Execution
- Oversee the full lifecycle of data center development projects, from initial site planning and preconstruction to commissioning and turnover, on behalf of ownership.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meeting financial objectives.
Owner Representation
- Serve as the central interface between internal stakeholders (finance, operations, legal) and external delivery teams (general contractors, engineers, consultants).
- Foster alignment on project schedules, scopes, budgets, and overall goals.
Budget & Cost Management
- Develop, maintain, and refine project budget models.
- Proactively manage cash flow, cost forecasts, and funding draws in collaboration with internal finance teams.
Contractor & Vendor Oversight
- Lead the selection, negotiation, and performance management of general contractors (GCs) and consultants to meet budget and timeline expectations.
- Ensure all external teams deliver results in line with client commitments and company objectives.
Design & Permitting Coordination
- Work closely with entitlement teams to secure timely permits and approvals.
- Oversee design development to prioritize constructability, operational sustainability, and speed-to-market delivery.
Client-Facing Leadership
- Act as the face of the company when presenting progress updates to funding partners, hyperscale clients, and internal executives.
- Build long-term trust and transparency through precise and frequent reporting.
Risk & Quality Management
- Identify construction and delivery risks well in advance and develop actionable solutions.
- Maintain uncompromising standards for quality and operational uptime.
Team Development
- Build and mentor a high-performing construction team driven by delivery excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
Qualifications
Experience
- 10–15+ years of leadership experience in managing large-scale data center constructions, with at least 5 years spent on the owner/developer side or in an owner’s representative role.
- Proven track record in delivering hyperscale or colocation projects, especially with leading cloud services providers or enterprise end-users.
- Extensive knowledge of project management tools like Procore, Primavera, and financial modeling software.
Skills
- Strong executive presence with a polished ability to present to diverse audiences, including clients, investors, and C-suite leaders.
- Expertise in budgeting, AIA contract negotiations, permitting processes, and regulatory compliances.
- Highly adaptive to a fast-moving, matrixed environment, demonstrating strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced degrees and/or recognized professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CCM, LEED) are a significant plus.
Additional Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background check.
Location & Travel
- Base Location: Northern Virginia (onsite presence required).
- Travel: Approximately 30–40% travel to project sites and headquarters as needed.

- Actively oversee project timelines, construction quality, and budget performance, ensuring that teams work together to meet or exceed expectations.
- Proactively communicate progress, risks, and solutions to internal and external stakeholders.
- Mentor and motivate team members to succeed in high-pressure environments while fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Collaborate with design and permitting teams to address challenges and refine strategies, maximizing the efficiency and sustainability of each project.
- Represent the organization in meetings with clients, partners, and community stakeholders with professionalism and precision.
