Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Managing Director - Project Management to lead and oversee the successful delivery of large-scale projects within the Data Centre sector. This role focuses on driving strategic vision, managing full project lifecycles, and influencing C-Suite decision-making processes. As a leader, you will ensure the seamless execution of design, construction, and management activities while maintaining a commitment to excellence in all aspects of your work.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop, communicate, and drive the organizational and project management strategy aligned with business objectives, ensuring projects deliver on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Project Lifecycle Oversight: Lead all aspects of project management, from inception to completion, including design and construction in the Data Centre sector.
  • C-Suite Collaboration: Operate effectively at an executive level, advising and communicating progress, updates, and risks with stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Risk and Change Management: Manage complex risks and changes across projects. Collaboratively create mitigation strategies to adapt to dynamic challenges.
  • Budget and Cost Control: Own the development, monitoring, and control of project budgets. Identify efficiencies to optimize cost without compromising quality.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of project managers, promoting a culture of inclusion, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Process Improvement: Implement best practices, tools, and methodologies to improve workflow efficiency and deliver high-quality outcomes consistently.
  • Client and Partner Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and partners to ensure alignment, communication, and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Foster an environment that celebrates diverse perspectives and provides equitable opportunities for all team members.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management with a focus on Data Centres, design, and construction.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of leading and managing large, cross-functional teams with a focus on collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or certification (e.g., PMP, PgMP) is a plus.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong abilities in driving strategic visions and translating them into actionable project goals.
  • Executive Presence: Comfortable operating at the C-Suite level with excellent influencing, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of Data Centres, including design and construction principles, budget management, and cost-analysis expertise.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in risk and change management scenarios.
  • Commitment to Inclusion: Passionate about creating an equitable workplace, with a demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams effectively.

Day-to-day

  • Lead executive-level project briefings, providing updates, insights, and solutions on ongoing projects.
  • Work closely with design and construction teams to oversee all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project budgets, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently.
  • Facilitate collaboration among cross-functional teams to solve emerging challenges and maintain project milestones.
  • Engage regularly with clients, stakeholders, and team members to establish strong communication channels and aligned vision.
  • Identify potential risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies to safeguard project success.
  • Drive operational improvements by standardizing processes and integrating innovative technologies and tools.
