Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical systems within the data centre, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Develop and enforce electrical standards, policies, and procedures to maintain compliance with industry regulations and safety protocols.
- Oversee the planning and execution of electrical infrastructure upgrades, expansions, and maintenance projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and IT, to align electrical systems with overall business objectives.
- Manage and mentor a team of electrical engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
- Monitor and analyze electrical system performance, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Extensive experience in electrical systems design, maintenance, and management, preferably within data centre environments.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations, including but not limited to NFPA, IEEE, and IEC.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in electrical design software and tools.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Day-to-Day
- Oversee daily operations of the data centre's electrical systems, ensuring uninterrupted power supply and system integrity.
- Conduct routine inspections and testing of electrical equipment to identify and address potential issues proactively.
- Lead team meetings to discuss ongoing projects, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Review and approve technical designs, plans, and specifications for new installations or upgrades.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the team, addressing complex electrical challenges as they arise.
- Liaise with other departments to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with overall data centre operations.
- Monitor energy consumption and implement strategies to enhance energy efficiency.
- Ensure all electrical activities are documented and comply with regulatory requirements.
