Responsibilities

As a Senior Electrical Estimator, you will:

• Analyze bid specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare accurate and competitive estimates.
• Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to develop project scopes and ensure alignment with customer needs.
• Lead scope review meetings with external clients and internal stakeholders to identify value-add opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Utilize historical job cost data to ensure accurate application of production units, labor, and general expenses.
• Draft detailed scope letters, proposals, and vendor solicitations.
• Transfer estimate information to the execution team, ensuring a seamless transition from pre-construction to project delivery.
• Participate in job walks, pre-bid meetings, and client consultations to gather critical project information.
• Support ongoing projects by assisting with change orders and cost-to-complete estimates.
• Contribute to the development of company standards for electrical estimating in design/build and plans/specs work.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should have:

• A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a construction-related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in estimating industrial electrical projects, particularly in heavy industrial and data center environments.
• Proficiency in software tools such as Accubid, BlueBeam, Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate with diverse teams.
• A proactive, self-motivated attitude and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Day-to-Day

Your typical day will involve:

• Reviewing project documents and preparing detailed cost estimates.
• Collaborating with clients and internal teams to refine project scopes and address potential challenges.
• Leading meetings to discuss project strategies, risks, and value-add opportunities.
• Utilizing software tools to analyze data, create reports, and ensure accurate cost projections.
• Supporting ongoing projects by providing updated estimates and assisting with change management.
• Documenting all aspects of the bid cycle to ensure transparency and accuracy.
