Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for data center construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project scope and budget.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with project requirements.
• Develop and maintain a database of historical cost data to improve the accuracy of future estimates.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities in project estimates and provide recommendations for mitigation.
• Present cost estimates and supporting documentation to senior management and clients.
• Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and advancements in data center construction technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on data center or similar large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, ProEst, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or equivalent are a plus.

Day-to-Day

• Review and analyze project documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather necessary information for estimates.
• Update and refine estimates as project details evolve.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gain a comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
• Monitor and report on project cost performance during the pre-construction phase.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators and team members.
