Responsibilities
As a Senior Electrical Project Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical construction projects for data centers, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Managing all aspects of project lifecycle, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and resource allocation.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineers, contractors, and stakeholders, to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Overseeing the design, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.
- Identifying and mitigating project risks, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders.
- Preparing and presenting project progress reports, financial updates, and performance metrics to senior management and clients.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency, quality, and safety.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in electrical project management, with a focus on data center or mission-critical environments.
- Proven expertise in managing large-scale electrical construction projects from inception to completion.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards, including NEC, NFPA, and IEEE.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as MS Project or Primavera.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and team members.
- PMP certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
Day-to-Day
In this role, your day-to-day activities will include:
- Conducting project kickoff meetings and developing detailed project plans.
- Monitoring project progress, addressing challenges, and ensuring milestones are met.
- Coordinating with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Conducting site visits to oversee construction activities and ensure adherence to project specifications.
- Leading project team meetings to align on goals, timelines, and deliverables.
- Reviewing and approving technical drawings, change orders, and project documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and fostering a culture of safety on-site.
