Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Commissioning Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting the seamless operation of critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and execute the commissioning of electrical systems in data center environments, ensuring all systems meet design specifications and operational requirements.
  • Conduct detailed testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical equipment, including switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, and power distribution units.
  • Collaborate with design, construction, and operations teams to ensure smooth project execution and handover.
  • Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and documentation in alignment with project timelines and objectives.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues during the commissioning process, providing innovative solutions to meet project goals.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations throughout the commissioning process.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation, including test results, punch lists, and as-built drawings.
  • Provide technical support and training to operational teams to ensure the long-term reliability of electrical systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in electrical commissioning, preferably within data center or mission-critical environments.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, backup power systems, and control systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes, such as IEEE, NEC, and NFPA.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and commissioning tools.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Day-to-Day

  • Conduct on-site inspections and testing of electrical systems to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders to address technical challenges and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Monitor and document the progress of commissioning activities, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for any identified issues.
  • Participate in project meetings to provide updates on commissioning progress and technical insights.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with established protocols.
