Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical systems in data centre projects.
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine project requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project scope and budget.
• Utilize software tools such as Accubid and Bluebeam to develop and manage estimates.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities within project estimates and provide recommendations to mitigate risks.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, materials, and construction methods relevant to electrical systems in data centres.
• Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and tender submissions.
• Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
• Provide support during project handover to ensure a smooth transition from estimation to execution.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator, preferably with a focus on data centre projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in using Accubid and Bluebeam software for estimation and project management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant qualifications in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field are highly desirable.

Day-to-Day

• Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Collaborate with the project team to ensure estimates align with project goals and timelines.
• Use Accubid and Bluebeam to create, update, and manage project estimates.
• Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure accurate cost inputs.
• Participate in project meetings to provide insights and updates on estimation-related matters.
• Monitor industry trends and pricing to ensure estimates remain competitive and up-to-date.
