Overview
An industry-leading engineering and design firm is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design teams across a broad range of projects, including power, industrial, institutional, healthcare, government, and military facilities. This role offers the opportunity to drive mechanical designs from concept through construction, while collaborating with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, leadership, and business acumen to deliver quality solutions and exceed client expectations.

Responsibilities
🔹 Lead mechanical design through all project phases, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and client needs
🔹 Specify mechanical equipment, prepare RFQs, evaluate bids, and develop purchase recommendations
🔹 Review vendor submittals and coordinate across disciplines, suppliers, and clients
🔹 Contribute to project planning including schedule, budget, and staffing
🔹 Apply deep knowledge of mechanical codes and design practices to solve complex challenges
🔹 Perform and review quality control of production drawings and technical documents
🔹 Lead field inspections and construction administration activities
🔹 Deliver technical reports and present findings to clients and industry audiences
🔹 Build and maintain client relationships; identify and support new business opportunities
🔹 Participate in marketing pursuits and proposal development
🔹 Guide junior engineers and ensure QA/QC processes are followed
🔹 Support safety compliance and company policies

Qualifications
✔ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program and 7+ years of experience (or equivalent as outlined below)
✔ EPC project experience preferred
✔ Proficient in mechanical codes and standards including ASME, ANSI, API, PIP, and NACE
✔ Strong written and verbal communication skills
✔ Demonstrated leadership in managing teams and delivering complex designs
✔ Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
✔ Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and engineering documentation
✔ Ability to perform detailed quality reviews
✔ Ability to travel as needed
✔ Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred

Day-to-day
⚡ Lead project teams in the execution of mechanical designs from concept through construction
⚡ Coordinate with vendors, clients, and internal disciplines to deliver integrated solutions
⚡ Provide mentorship, assign tasks, and support team development
⚡ Oversee project budgets, schedules, and client communications
⚡ Conduct field investigations, resolve installation issues, and uphold design quality
