Responsibilities

  • Lead preconstruction efforts for Data Centre and other mission-critical projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company standards.
  • Collaborate with owners, architects, and engineers to develop comprehensive project plans and budgets.
  • Prepare and present detailed cost estimates, schedules, and value engineering options.
  • Oversee bid processes, subcontractor selection, and procurement strategies.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to preconstruction teams, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout the preconstruction phase.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in preconstruction management, ideally within the Data Centre, automotive, or mission-critical sectors.
  • Strong tenure and stability in previous roles, preferably with mid-to-large general contractors.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with owners and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cost estimation, scheduling, and value engineering.
  • Familiarity with complex projects; experience in multi-family, retail, or restaurant projects is not preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for meetings and site visits.

Day-to-Day

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine project scopes and budgets.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of project plans, specifications, and contracts.
  • Lead pre-bid meetings and manage subcontractor relationships.
  • Present project proposals and updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor market trends and pricing to ensure competitive and accurate cost estimates.
  • Support the transition from preconstruction to construction, ensuring a seamless handoff to project teams.
