Project Manager II (Cost Management) - Mission Critical, Data Centre

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager II (Cost Management) to join our team. This role is focused on delivering cost management expertise within mission-critical and data centre projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost estimation, project management, and a proven ability to manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cost management efforts for mission-critical and data centre projects, ensuring budgets are adhered to and financial objectives are met.
  • Develop, monitor, and update project budgets, forecasts, and cost plans throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and construction, to ensure cost efficiency and alignment with project goals.
  • Conduct detailed cost analysis, value engineering, and risk assessments to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare and present cost reports, financial summaries, and project updates to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Manage procurement processes, including tendering, bid evaluations, and contract negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate potential cost-related risks to ensure project success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in cost management, project management, or a similar role, preferably within mission-critical or data centre environments.
  • Strong understanding of cost estimation techniques, financial analysis, and budgeting principles.
  • Proficiency in project management software and cost management tools.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, CCP, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Day-to-Day

  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and maintain accurate cost estimates and budgets.
  • Monitor project progress and financial performance, identifying and addressing any variances.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with stakeholders to provide updates on cost management and project status.
  • Review and approve invoices, change orders, and other financial documents.
  • Conduct site visits as needed to ensure alignment with project plans and budgets.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
